The Istanbul Kültür University Centre for Sustainable Development conducts studies aimed at raising awareness of sustainable development and social benefit, and at placing Istanbul Kültür University in its rightful position in international sustainability indexes. These studies are led by our Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil.

OUR SERVICES:
- To conduct academic and scientific studies on topics related to sustainable development in line with the Centre's purposes, and to organise panels, symposiums, publications and similar activities.
- To carry out studies to ensure that sustainable development and social benefit awareness are integrated into the university's vision, mission, goals and strategies.
- To organise learning activities in relevant faculties, colleges, institutes and research centres, to support these units, to ensure coordination between units and to determine the principles related to this subject.
- To ensure that the university is evaluated in national and international sustainability ratings and to carry out studies aimed at improving its position in the relevant lists.
- To prepare the university's annual sustainability report, which includes its sustainability activities, objectives and strategies, in coordination with the relevant academic and administrative units, and to submit it to the Rectorate.
- To conduct research on topics such as green campuses, waste disposal, energy and water sustainability, transportation, social benefit, etc. for the university and to make recommendations to the University Rector.
- Provide temporary opportunities for those who wish to work at the Centre for internship purposes, receive their contributions or carry out joint studies.
- Organise, implement, ensure the implementation of short- and/or long-term national and/or international educational activities on sustainable development with the contribution of experts, support existing educational programmes, and open and continue certificate programmes within the framework of relevant legislation.
- To assist in studies on issues related to sustainable development and coordination between relevant organisations, and to facilitate the mutual exchange of knowledge and experience between institutions, organisations and individuals involved in sustainable development at national and international levels.
- To develop and implement projects for social benefit in order to adapt to changing environmental conditions.
- To ensure that scientific research and socially beneficial projects aimed at identifying and solving problems in the area of sustainable development are carried out and implemented, and to organise competitions and award prizes that serve this purpose.
- To publish on subjects related to the Centre's field of operation.
