Istanbul Kültür University regularly provides expert advice and policy consultation to public institutions, local governments, professional chambers, and non-governmental organizations through its strong academic expertise, research capacity, and qualified faculty. Through its various faculties and centers, the university contributes scientifically grounded insights in areas such as public administration, sustainable development, gender equality, economics, environmental management, technology, and education policy.
University academics and administrators are frequently invited by government bodies and public institutions to participate in policy forums and consultation meetings. For instance, Prof. Dr. Çağla Gül Yesevi attended the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2024, held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she shared expert assessments on diplomacy, migration, and climate change. The university also maintains continuous collaboration with professional associations, contributing to sectoral development and policy-making processes. As an example, during meetings with the Turkish Knitwear Industrialists Association (TRİSAD), IKU academics provided recommendations on innovation, sustainable production, and vocational education strategies.
In addition, Istanbul Kültür University works closely and continuously with municipalities and local administrations. The Project Cycle Management (PCM) training organized by the university’s Technology Transfer Office in collaboration with Bağcılar Municipality exemplifies this partnership, strengthening the institutional capacity of local administrations and NGOs in project design, access to funding, and monitoring and sevaluation processes.
These examples reflect the university’s ongoing role as a reliable source of expert advice at local, regional, and national levels, providing academic contributions to the development of public policies.
