Istanbul Kültür University contributes directly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through its collaborations and joint initiatives with non-governmental organizations. Projects, awareness activities, protocols, and community engagement programs carried out by various university units are comprehensively presented in the 2024 Sustainability Report.
Throughout 2024, Istanbul Kültür University organized numerous events, talks, conferences, and social responsibility projects in close cooperation with various NGOs. Specifically, under the coordination of the Sustainable Development Center, collaborations were established with organizations such as İşte Kadın Association, Sustainable Education, Development and Excellence Association (SEGM), UNESCO National Commission of Türkiye, ORE Law & Consultancy, Bakırköy Municipality Directorate of Climate Change and Zero Waste, and Reges Electric. These partnerships focused on key themes such as women’s empowerment, cultural heritage preservation, energy efficiency, climate action, sustainable production, environmental awareness, and inclusive education.
Panels, symposiums, training programs, and public awareness events organized across the university have fostered a culture of collaboration with NGOs in both academic and social contexts. All these efforts reflect Istanbul Kültür University’s holistic approach to the Sustainable Development Goals and its impact generated through partnerships with diverse societal stakeholders.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney-Yüksektepe, Rector of Istanbul Kültür University, represents the university as a Team Member of the Yanındayız Association, contributing to national-level awareness and policy development efforts in the fields of gender equality, inclusivity, and sustainability.
