16.3.3. Policy research in collaboration with government

Istanbul Kültür University conducts policy-oriented research in collaboration with government bodies, guided by the principle that public policies should be grounded in scientific evidence. Various academic units and research centers within the university provide research, analysis, and consultancy support to public institutions upon request, depending on emerging needs.

The university prioritizes public benefit in its research activities, contributing to the development of public policies through studies in areas such as economics, environment, disaster management, energy, education, and gender equality. Faculty members and researchers develop analyses and recommendations within the scope of national strategy documents, development plans, municipal strategic plans, and ministerial coordination projects, often upon invitations from relevant government institutions.

Research groups at Istanbul Kültür University have participated in national policy-oriented projects such as the AFAD DSS Disaster Logistics Project, which provided scientific data support to decision-makers in the fields of disaster management and crisis coordination. Through its ongoing collaborations with public institutions, the university maintains its evidence-based approach to problem-solving and continues to initiate new research and consultancy processes whenever requested.
