Istanbul Kültür University regularly conducts information, general training, skill development, and capacity-building activities for policymakers, local administrators, professional organizations, and public institutions in areas such as economics, law, technology, migration, displacement, and climate change. Through its various academic units and centers, the university contributes to sustainability-oriented education and policy exchange processes at both the national and regional levels.
Within this scope, under the coordination of the Sustainable Development Center (İKÜSÜRKAM), various awareness activities have been organized for public institutions and local government representatives on topics such as climate change, green economy, social justice, and circular development. The symposium titled “Rethinking Sustainability: The Role of Climate Finance and Green Entrepreneurship” was held with the participation of public policymakers, municipal representatives, and business leaders, where academic insights were shared on financial transformation and climate adaptation policies.
Additionally, the university collaborated with the Bakırköy Municipality Directorate of Climate Change and Zero Waste and participated in the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) Workshop, contributing academically to the planning processes of local climate policies. During the workshop, activities were carried out to provide guidance and raise awareness on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and urban climate resilience.
The university also, through its Faculty of Law and the Criminal Law Application and Research Center (CEHAMER), organizes seminars and panels for legal professionals, public officials, and students on human rights, gender equality, and migration law. Furthermore, through activities conducted by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Istanbul Kültür University provides academic contributions to decision-makers in the areas of economic policy, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications.
