Istanbul Kültür University organizes public vocational training programs aimed at various segments of society as part of its role as an educational institution. In this context, a social responsibility project titled “Iron Women: The Power of Women in Welding Art” was implemented in 2024.
The project was designed to support NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) women in gaining vocational skills and increasing their participation in the workforce. Over a period of eight weeks, participants received approximately 44 hours of practical and theoretical training.
The training program, delivered by an academic team consisting of professors and associate professors who are experts in their fields, covered a wide range of topics, including:
• Nutrition in chronic diseases,
• Exercise in stress-related pain,
• Basic first aid,
• Actions to be taken in cases of violence against women,
• Career management and SWOT analysis,
• Investment and savings awareness,
• Social entrepreneurship, and
• Sustainable development.
Participants who successfully completed the program were awarded their certificates at a ceremony attended by the Rector of Istanbul Kültür University, Prof. Dr. Fadime Üney-Yüksektepe.
This program provided access to vocational learning opportunities for individuals who are not university students and contributed to the empowerment of women in technical fields. Through this initiative, Istanbul Kültür University continues to support publicly accessible vocational education activities that promote the empowerment of society through education. The program is planned to continue beyond the year.
